Concussion Initiative

The Chairman of our organization, Neilank K. Jha has partnered with his close friend and mentor Jack Layton and friend Glen Thibeault to call on the Federal government for a Royal Commission on head and spine injuries in children in sports.  WATCH has made significant contributions to the Reagent Park area through thousands of dedicated volunteers over the last 15 years.  In collaboration with other organizations, WATCH is now striving to improve public awareness on preventative measures for brain and spinal cord injuries among children in this community. Damage to the brain and spinal cord may have both short term and long term adverse effects on the children, youth and young adults in our communities. Therefore, it is important to teach children the value of employing safe practices when engaging in sports and other activities.
